Three In Contention for Young Athlete of the Year Honour

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
The three finalists have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.
The ceremony will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"Being nominated for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Being nominated for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
