Female Suspect Evades Law Enforcement Following High-Velocity Chase from California into Mexico
A female individual previously residing at a women’s sobriety home in California reportedly stole a minivan and engaged in a prolonged law enforcement pursuit ending with her crossing the international boundary into Mexico on Monday.
Vehicle Theft Reported from Recovery Residence
As stated in a police announcement, a another female, the owner of the vehicle, 45, reported that her 2004 gray Toyota Sienna was stolen, along with her vehicle key. The owner, who manages two women’s sober living homes, named the suspect as Alyssa Wilson at Diana’s House Sober Living, situated approximately 60 minutes north-west of LA.
“My keys were stolen from my house manager’s purse. I happened to pull up right when it was occurring,” Walters stated, adding that the vehicle is used for the sobriety home’s tasks.
High-Speed Pursuit Develops Across Several Regions
Officials located the van about 12 miles to the north in Simi Valley, where they tried to initiate a traffic stop, but Wilson did not comply and accelerated rapidly. She attained speeds of about 145km/h on the 118 freeway until the chase continued into LA County. At that point, Ventura county authorities transferred the pursuit to the California highway patrol once Wilson entered the Interstate 405 heading south.
“This incident is very unique in the sense of the traffic conditions enabling drivers to continue to remain on the highway and prolong this chase,” commented a spokesperson from the Ventura county sheriff’s office.
Wilson allegedly dodged all the tire-deflation devices tossed on the road by authorities, as documented in footage from above.
International Getaway and Aftermath
The chase finally arrived at the US-Mexico border by early afternoon, prompting the CHP to terminate the chase due to jurisdictional constraints.
Walters indicated on the following day that the minivan was located in Tijuana, Mexico and that she was coordinating with the authorities to recover the vehicle.
“Ultimately, I’m not worried about the car,” Walters said. “I’m relieved aware she wasn’t hurt. The minivan is easily substituted.”

The sober living home owner, who has operated Diana’s House Sober Living since October 2024, acknowledges that the path to recovery from substance abuse and trauma is often non-linear.
“This is a mental health and substance abuse crisis,” she said. “We need additional assistance. It is essential to provide more resources for those that are struggling.”
“The recovery process isn’t always pretty,” Walters concluded.
