The ex-lawyer for the former president has resigned as New Jersey's top federal prosecutor. This follows a court battle that questioned her eligibility to occupy the role.
Attorney General's Statement
The nation's top law enforcement official, Pam Bondi, announced her stepping down on Monday. In a statement that the court's "flawed" ruling made it "untenable" for Habba to effectively run her office.
"Do not interpret compliance for surrender," she wrote. "The effort will now extend throughout the nation."

Her resignation comes a week after a federal appellate panel found that she had been unlawfully serving as the federal prosecutor. This judgment is could influence numerous prosecutions in the Garden State.
